good company.

So one of things I love the most in Fairbanks happens in the morning.

We wake up.   We sit around.   We get ready.

And then we go to the coffee shop at church to meet up with Jackie and Deborah.

And then we just sit together, have coffee and talk.

The company of women. 

There’s just something about keeping company with other women.   

something essential. 

something life giving.

something restorative. 

something holy.

And what blows my mind is that these two women, in the grand scheme of things have hardly spent much time with at all and yet they are such good company.  Company that says  "welcome home – despite the fact that home is technically over 4000 miles away."   

Today I realized that of all the things I love about Alaska (like I even love that it’s cold outside), the company – the good company is what I love most. 

Good company it’s just part of the landscape up here – just part of the grandeur of Alaska.
