if only we were still 2
May 13, 2008On most days I think it’s far more difficult to be a 2 year old than a grown-up. So easily frustrated with a world that cannot be all about you. Easily frustrated with trying to communicate what you want, what you need, what is wrong. (of course that sounds like much of adult-hood, too).
But tonight sitting on my brother’s deck with his family, I think we all agreed: “if only we were still 2 years old.”
Apparently at the visitation for Brenda mother, they tried to keep Janey away from the open casket but as with most 2 year olds, she found it. And I’m told she walked up to the casket and looked at her Nana. She said “Bye bye Nana.” Then turned to her mom and said, “Nana’s with Jesus now.” And that was it. All was ok.
If only we were still 2.

Sally,
My cousin said the same thing when Sara passed away. It is amazing how they understand, and it can be so simple to them. Sometimes, we think too much. To be 2 again. Much love to you!
