The move!
May 16, 2008After seeing Prince Caspian today (ohhhh the quotes I could post) and reliving the magical world of Narnia, I could easily say Aslan is on the move. Or at least yesterday, my brother was on the move. After a year and a half on the market, finally everything fell into place, and the uhaul was unloaded into their new house.
Their story was really like any climatic scene in the great movies when all hope seems lost: Star Wars for example when the jedi’s are surrounded in the arena and General Grevious and the droid army is about to anihilate them. But the story doesn’t end there because all of a sudden down comes Yoda with the Clone Troopers! The hero arrives just in time to save the day. Even up to the last minute yesterday with the papers on the table, it really looked like this move would not happen.
But despite the industrial fans drying the floors (a burst water-main was discovered only hours before they signed the papers), the hero did come in time yesterday. Victory was won in their lives as well as in real estate. And they moved into their new house.
What got me last night standing out front of their new house - was that what had been won was not just a house, but a home. My brother’s finest moment yet in life, I think. He led his family through the ups and the downs of far more than just the housing market over the last couple years and finally last night - moved his family not into a new house but into a home. The hero arrived just in time. The victory was won.
I think it’s probably fair to say, that Aslan is on the move and not just in uhaul trucks.
