Home.
Sunday we had our animal blessing. Last Wednesday was the Feast Day of St. Francis. Today I read perhaps my favorite words (and most understated) attributed to Francis.
"We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, and to bring home those who have lost their way."
–St. Francis Assisi
It certainly reverberated within me. This is afterall what I seem to do. Perhaps I have more St. Francis in me than I realized 🙂
But this morning what really got me was thinking of my friend, Carrie, who waits anxiously and painfully to bring home her Lilly from Guatemala. Lilly is five months old and waits in foster care as Carrie plugs through the legal system of adoption. Follow Lilly’s journey home to Carrie at her blog.
It was true 800 years ago. I was true long before Francis. And it’s true today.
We’re all trying to find our way home. It just seems that some of us have more red tape than others to get there.
To heal…
to heal others brings healing to yourself as well, no doubt.
To bring others home makes you sure of where yours is.
Home is a place we all love. And feel most at ease at. it may not be your house, it maynot be where you grew up. It is where your heart is. So If your heart is where it needs to be, then you know where your true home is…
Sorry, just thinking about home, or the idea of it alot lately.

So we should go to Assisi…it’s cool. On the same trip (pilgrimage) when we go to Notre Dame and you see that Paris is lots more than being lost at the Arc d’Triomphe. It’s never too soon to start planning.
I agree with Lucinda.
